This artwork was painted on glass, transferred by printing on archival paper with a baren and wooden spoon, and enhanced with paper collage, rice paper prints applied with Chine colle, and acrylic paint.
"Aprons" is a series of monotypes inspired by reading an article about a female referee in a futbol match who was told to "stick to the kitchen" by a field player. This is the first in the series and visually exposes the vulnerability of females. Women and girls live in precarity and become the most vulnerable due to their perceived role in society.
